Custom Made Lyric T-Shirts for Eraserheads' Melbourne Concert 2025
My sisters and I are beyond excited—we're heading to the Eraserheads' "Huling El Bimbo World Tour 2025" concert in Melbourne! It's been over two decades since we last saw them live, and the nostalgia is hitting hard.
To make the night even more special, we decided to wear statement tees featuring our favourite Eraserheads lyrics. So, one weekend, armed with my Cricut Maker 3 and a heat press, I dove into a DIY project to create our personalised concert apparel. This involved designing the text (lyrics), cutting them from vinyl, and pressing them onto our tees—a fun and creative way to showcase our fandom.
Our DIY T-Shirt Project:
1. Create the Design
Each of us picked a lyric that resonates deeply. Using Canva, I experimented with fonts until satisfied with the look. The designs were saved as SVG files and uploaded to Cricut Design Space. While Cricut Design Space is user-friendly and offers design capabilities, I opted for Canva due to its extensive font variety.

2. Cutting the Vinyl
After finalising the designs in Cricut Design Space, I selected the appropriate material settings (remembering to turn the Mirror option on). For this project, I used non-Cricut heat transfer vinyl brands, HTVRont and Tintnut, sourced from Amazon Australia.
3. Weeding
This step involves removing the excess vinyl to reveal the design. While it's not my favourite part, it's essential for achieving a clean result.
4. Heat Press Action
After setting the heat press to the recommended temperature, I pressed the designs onto the t-shirts, ensuring they adhered properly. I sourced our fitted v-neck and round-neck t-shirts from Amazon Australia. The quality and fit are impressive; I'm considering exploring wholesale options for future projects.
This DIY project not only allowed us to wear unique, personalised tees to the concert but also added an extra layer of excitement to our Eraserheads experience.
The Eraserheads' concert is scheduled for March 1, 2025, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
