10 Lucky Items to Bring Positivity, Prosperity in the New Year
I’m not someone you’d typically call superstitious, but with a firm focus on achieving my personal goals this year, I’m open to anything that might bring a little extra luck my way. Tangible or intangible, I welcome all the good vibes.
Here are some of the lucky items I’m either eyeing, already carrying, or planning to surround myself with this year:
1. Lucky Bamboo
I like to think I have a green thumb when it comes to growing and caring for bamboo plants. They’re incredibly easy to maintain, making them a breeze to have indoors. I’m even planning to add more bamboo plants to different areas of our home.
Lucky bamboo is believed to bring harmony and good fortune, and its low-maintenance nature makes it an ideal addition to any workspace or living space. Not only does it enhance the decor, but it also creates a calming and focused atmosphere.
2. Crystals for Intention Setting
I am still deciding which crystals to welcome into our home for 2025. Right now, I have a citrine tree of life, but I’m thinking of adding a mix of crystals that align with positive intentions:
- Clear Quartz: Known as the "master healer," it amplifies energy and focus.
- Green Aventurine: Often called the stone of luck, it’s great for attracting opportunities.
- Amethyst: A calming stone that encourages clarity and emotional balance.
- Black Tourmaline: Perfect for protection, helping to ward off negativity.
- Rose Quartz: The stone of love and harmony, fostering compassion and self-care.
I’ll share in a future post which ones I ultimately bring into our home!
3. Gemstones on Jewellery
I currently wear a carnelian ring and a jade star necklace—two pieces I love for their energy and symbolism. Wearing lucky gemstones as jewellery is my way of channeling their positive vibes throughout the day. Next on my list is citrine, which I’m considering adding as a ring or bracelet to bring even more good fortune and optimism into my life.
4. Four-Leaf Clover
The four-leaf clover is a timeless symbol of luck and positivity. While naturally finding one is rare, luckily, many sellers offer preserved clovers in various forms. Whether kept flat in a wallet or carried as a keychain charm, I’m determined to bring this little token of good fortune into my life this year.
5. Dreamcatcher
I’ve received a few dreamcatchers as gifts in the past, but I never realized they are also considered symbols of good luck. This year, I plan to hang them in our home workspaces, hoping they inspire positivity and allow good thoughts and energy to flow freely.
6. Himalayan Salt Lamps
We used to have a Himalayan salt lamp, but we ended up donating it because we didn’t use it often, and the lamp began to emit salt due to the lack of consistent use.
This year, since we’re mostly working from home, I’m thinking about adding one back—this time as a display in our hallway. Himalayan salt lamps are said to have air-purifying benefits, which could be especially useful in our home, given that our laser machine is set up indoors.
7. Fresh Flowers
I love the vibrancy that fresh flowers bring—they add life, beauty, and warmth to any space. I’m particularly drawn to peonies, chrysanthemums, and roses, not just for their charm but also for their deeper meanings. These blooms symbolise prosperity, good fortune, and passion, making them perfect additions to brighten up my home.
8. Personal Item for Motivation
Lately, we’ve started collecting Upset Duck plush dolls, and I’ve placed one on my work table at home. Its adorable face never fails to bring a smile, adding a little spark of joy to my day. While I wouldn’t call myself a general “duck” enthusiast, there’s something about this quirky collectible that keeps me inspired. Plus, my husband and I plan to grow our collection, which serves as a fun motivator—I need to stay productive and resourceful to fund this delightful hobby!
9. Lucky Coins
Lucky coins have long been cherished as timeless symbols of wealth and good fortune. This year, I’m planning to carry a lucky coin with me—not just as a charm, but as a meaningful reminder of my financial aspirations and the abundance I wish to attract. To enhance the flow of prosperity in our home, I’m also thinking of placing lucky coins in key areas, subtly weaving their symbolism into our everyday space.
10. Red Envelope
In many cultures, red envelopes are powerful symbols of luck and prosperity. Last year, I began a personal tradition of gifting red envelopes to my nieces—a small gesture to share good fortune. This year, I’m excited to continue this practice, with the hope that as my own prosperity grows, I’ll be able to extend this tradition to even more people. It’s a meaningful way to spread positivity while aligning with the flow of abundance in my own life.
While luck may come in many forms, I’ve found that surrounding myself with meaningful items that inspire positivity and focus makes a real difference. From lucky bamboo to personalised reminders, these aren’t just symbols to me—they’re tools that help manifest my intentions and keep me motivated.
As you pursue your own goals this year, consider finding a token that speaks to you—a small but powerful reminder of your aspirations. Let it inspire you to stay focused and remind you that good fortune often comes from a blend of mindset and opportunity.
Here’s to a year filled with prosperity, positivity, and success!
